Message from the organizing chairman

On behalf of the PEDS ´05 Organizing Committee, it is a great pleasure for me to welcome all the participants to the Sixth IEEE Intemational Conference on Power Electronics and Drive Systems (PEDS ´05). The PEDS Conference series is held in various Asia Pacific (IEEE Region 10) countries and this tirne Malaysia has the honor to organize this prestigious event. The Conference is biennial, and since 1995 the PEDS Central Committee, Singapore in collaboration with overseas organizing committees have successfully organized five Conferences (PEDS´95 Singapore, PEDS´97 Singapore, PEDS ´99 Hong Kong and PEDS´01 Bali-Indonesia, PEDS´03 Singapore). All the PEDS Conferences are held in technical co-sponsorship with the IEEE Power Electronics Society and IEEE Industry Applications Society. The aim of the Conference is to provide a forum for delegates from the industry and academia to exchange ideas and presenting their research works. In addition, it is an ideal venue for interactions and for them to establish the all-important contacts with each other.
