Abstract :
In this paper, a new algorithm of QRS complex detection is presented based on Teager energy operator (TEO). The TEO is used to detect characteristic points of electrocardiograph (ECG) signal. The proposed algorithm employs only three adjacent samples of the signal and requires only three arithmetic operations per time shift. It has excellent time resolution and is robust in the presence of noise. By using this method, the detection rate of QRS complexes is close to 99.9% for the MIT/BIH arrhythmia database. The results show that the proposed method is simple, effective, accurate and suitable for practical application.
