Abstract
This work studied the methods for investigating the spectral behavior of instantaneous heart rate(IHR), the ECG recordings were taken from the patients suffered from obstructive sleep apnea syndrome(osas). In order to get over the defect of the lomb method and derive the characteristic spectrum, the work present a new algorithm, which removed the rhythmic oscillations by the empirical mode decomposition(EMD) method, and then investigated the spectrum of the residual component. The results showed that the improved method can get over the disturbance of rhythmic oscillations of IHR. In the conclusion, the work post that there was a distinct power between 0.02 Hz and 0.04 Hz in the IHR spectrum of osas patients during apnea episodes, and this powers was maximum in most case.
