Abstract :
The SAMOA system (a TCM optical microcontrolled system for ATM) is described. It will be used for the UNI (user network interface) of the BISDN. This system transforms a 155.520-Mb/s cell based data flow in a burst cell based data flow. The first physical layer can be implemented in a set of hybrid modules, and the second physical layer uses two CMOS ASICs in accord with the cell based option of the CCITT 1432 recommendation. One of those hybrid modules is an opto hybrid device. The hybrid technique is the only one that works with the 622.08-Mb/s rate used in this system
