Abstract
Empirical Mode Decomposition is the key part of Hilbert Huang Transform which is a powerful method for the analysis of nonlinear and non-stationary signals. The method is very sensitive to end conditions. In this paper, we propose a new method to restrict the end effect. The steps of the method are introduced in detail. Performances of the proposed method are compared with other method using simulated signals. The results show that the new method can better restrict the end effect and also improve the precision of Empirical Mode Decomposition and Hilbert spectrum.
