Abstract :
Summary from only given, as follows. An actuator design concept based on the principles of magnetic saturation and stepper motors is postulated in this paper. A permanent magnet disc stepper motor design is investigated and its suitability as current sensitive actuator is assessed. Techniques for minimizing the effect of the stepper motor detent torque on its current sensitivity are also evaluated.
