Abstract :
In order to assess the quality of the system, this paper analyzes the effects of phase errors due to random motion on the resolution of airborne bistatic SAR. For zero mean random motion errors, an analytical result of RMS (root mean square) resolution is derived. Based on the derived model, Gaussian function is found to be the optimum weighting function on azimuth processing and the best achievable RMS resolution is obtained in closed form.
