Abstract :
The functional, electrical, and noise characteristics of the multiparty line system in rural Saskatchewan are studied. Tables showing measured and survey results are included. The intent is to provide a basis for using advanced technologies to upgrade service cost-effectively. Three approaches that are potentially useful in this respect are discussed, namely, analog frequency-division-multiplexing (FDM) method, digital time-division-multiplexing (TDM) methods, and mobile radios
