Abstract
The microwave telecommunication systems developed in Hungary in the last decades and applied in public networks are surveyed, and an overview of the long- and short-term network modernization plans is presented. The present state of the microwave telecommunication network is characterized by a well developed analog and an underdeveloped digital network. Consequently, there are modernization projects going on to overcome this problem and as a part of it a large number of high, medium, and small capacity digital microwave radio links will be installed in the near future
