  • Abstract
The designer of static power converters must model the losses of converter switches to optimize the performance of system. This paper proposes functional simulation model for the analysis of conduction and switching losses in three-phase optimized harmonic stepped-waveform (OHSW) multilevel voltage-source inverter (VSI) using the switching function concept. Also, this concept is implemented with the help of Matlab Simulink. This proposed method, which is based on the semiconductor characteristics modeling. It is shown that the suggested method include accurate, simplicity, convergence, and short run-time of the simulation
