Abstract
A tool-supported method for effective software development process management is presented in this paper. The method extends a layer-based software development method by imposing such management features as Petri net and Java enumeration and annotation on its development process. Since the development method employs a layered specification and construction of system components through its process of development activities where the extended management features are imposed in an integrated manner, team productivities can be greatly enhanced by intimate collaborations between development and management staff. For illustration, the method is applied in the development of a software system with business-oriented services.
