Abstract :
The feasibility of e-mail for trial inclusion and randomization was evaluated. In 100 experiments it was demonstrated that acceptable transmission times could not be guaranteed, due to unforeseen delays in servers somewhere in the transmission track. Alternatively WWW technology proved to be a good solution, provided the security aspects were taken care of. A number of experiments are given to illustrate the diverse possibilities and levels of security
