Abstract :
The description and integration of automated cardiological data processing and reporting modules with a multimedia cardiological Computer Patient Record (CPR) named ORCA is described in this paper. More specifically, specialised processing and browsing modules applied to ECGs and angiograms using wavelet transformation among others and watershed based techniques have been developed, and subsequently used in the context of the ORCA multimedia workstation in order to provide better and more complete clinical information to the cardiologists. The system runs under WINDOWS NT, and used standard information coding structures such as SCP-ECG for ECGs and DICOM for angiograms
