  • Abstract
    Summary from only given, as follows. Calculation of transient 3D eddy current is presented using a special mixed FEM-BIEM method. The eddy current equations are formulated in terms of h in eddy-current region and in eddy free region. The problem is solved by edge-elements on hexahedron. This leads to a symmetric and positive definite system of equations which can be solved by ICCG method. The eddy current region is discritized with hexahedron, which reduces the number of unknowns by a half comparing to filling a hexahedron with tetrahedron. The result of its using to calculate end region transient eddy current of large turbo-generator shows the applicability of the method.
