Abstract
A quality improvement project jointly undertaken by AT&T´s Network Services Division and 5ESS switch product engineering control center (PECC) is described. The reasons for improvement, problem selection, identification and verification of the problem´s root causes, countermeasures selected to correct the identified causes of the problem, confirmation process that indicates that the target for improvement has been met, and the standardization for preventing the problem from recurring are discussed
