Abstract :
The availability of service control point (SCP) in the intelligent network (IN) is discussed. A. Nakamura et al. (see IEEE Global Telecom Conf., p.1680, 1991) showed the requirements for SCP hardware architecture. They pointed out that SCP should have flexibility performance, and estimated the cost of SCP using a model which satisfies the requirements. Using the same model, the availability of SCP is discussed. The concepts of an SCP architecture with performance flexibility are summarized. SCP availability is also discussed simply as a telecommunication node. An availability concept that considers the standpoint of each customer is presented and some examples are given
