Abstract
This paper proposes a new buck-type hybrid current source rectifier that eliminates low-frequency common mode (CM) components in the dc-link voltage and preserves the maximum voltage transfer ratio. This is achieved by placing an H-bridge (HB) in series with each of the dc-side terminals of the buck rectifier. It is shown through simulations that the proposed topology can effectively eliminate the low frequency common mode voltage component. Furthermore there is little increase in the total losses since savings in the buck rectifier switching losses compensate for the extra losses of the H-bridges
