            Abstract : 
The registration of multimodality images is a fundamental task in numerous applications in medical image processing. This paper presents recent work in registration of 2- D images using the Mutual Information. This work is part of developing a system for medical image processing. The registration uses methods from the Insight Software Toolkit (ITK), which provides a public domain and open source implementation of registration and segmentation algorithms.
