  • Abstract
A data collection system for applied potential tomography (APT) which works in a multifrequency mode and uses 16 electrodes to inject current and to measure voltage is presented. These electrodes are addressed through a multiplexer and can be used in five operating modes. A general-purpose analog and digital interface board is used, along with optical isolators, to send control words and sample the electrode voltage amplitude. The system is fully controllable by software. Due to its multifunction hardware and its flexible software, the system can be used for any desired sequence of electrode configurations and can meet data acquisition requirements for different applications in APT
