Abstract :
The designing of a novel circuit system of electron beam welder stabilized high-voltage supply is presented in this paper. Its main circuit is based on PWM Boost converter topology. A switch current limiter (SCL) is used to suppress the surge current and a practical PID controller is designed to regulate the output voltage. The Saber simulation results show that the SCL can effectively restrain the surge current which may occur during the voltage regulating process and obviously decrease overshoot amplitude and transition time; the PID controller can precisely stabilize the output voltage in the case of great power supply fluctuation. It can be concluded from the theoretical and simulation analysis that this system has good static and dynamic performance, high control precision and much lower voltage supply than traditional ones. As a result, its manufacturing cost is also lower.
