Abstract
A novel method of lightwave-microwave signal conversion has been developed and studied in detail. The proposed method offers many advantages, providing a high mixing product in a wide frequency range. An optimum adjustment has also been found. A comparison of results obtained by using HEMT (high electron mobility transistor) and FET devices is also presented. The HEMT lightwave-microwave mixing results in a higher converted signal than the FET mixing.<>
