Abstract :
The utilization of a digitizer is widely spread in the fields of RF/IF digital receiver, wireless communication testing, software defined radio and mixed signal analysis. This paper introduces a design methodology of a dual-channel waveform digitizer characterizing high speed and high resolution. This data acquisition system includes two channels collecting waveforms at a maximum sampling rate of 400 MSa/s with a 12-bit A/D conversion resolution. Its 64 M words memories and two acquisition modes enable data being accurately recorded. Among all the components contributing to achievement of the key specifications, three are especially critical-correction for non-uniform sampling based on hybrid filter bank (HFB), a DDR-based samples storage module and synchronization clock distribution with a unique BUS. Therefore, these three items are given priority to in the work.
