Abstract
This article explains why a Dutch regional Legal Authority for public transport, BRU, took the decision to take matter in its own hands and became an Asset Manager. It highlights the implementation stages; the chosen asset management model on strategical, tactical and operational level; the implemented asset management processes, systems and procedures; gaining maturity level; and learning points.
