Abstract :
We described recent progress on optical communications using light beams carrying orbital angular momentum (OAM). We achieved a 25.6-bit/s/Hz spectral efficiency using 16-QAM signals over pol-muxed four OAM beams. We obtained a 2-Tbit/s data link using 25-WDM-channel 40-Gbit/s NRZ-DPSK signals over two OAM beams.
