  • Abstract
    The optical recording write pulse sequence is generated by using 20-phase VCO clock edges, phase-locked to the 26 to 420 MHz input-channel clock frequencies. Pulse width and delay are programmable with 120±40 ps timing resolution at 16× speed. Fabricated in 0.35 μm CMOS, the chip occupies 3.5×3.3 mm2 and consumes 294 mW at 3.3 V.
