Abstract :
A distributed processing operating system for software development is presented; it uses the Sun Network File System (NFS) and the Apollo Network Computing System (NCS). This system allows the transparent remote execution of processes. Local and remote agents are constructed for each program which is to be run remotely. The agents then coordinate, using NCS, the remote execution of the process. NFS is used to provide remote file access. The selection of the target host processor is made with the assistance of the DYNABASE network administration utility
