Abstract
A novel transform-domain LMS (least mean square) adaptive digital filter based on the modified discrete Fourier transform is proposed. This filter has the advantages of high frequency resolution, fast convergence speed, and low computational complexity, especially for band-limited signals. The results of a computer simulation in which the adaptive digital filter was used for noise cancellation show that, with fewer computational requirements, the novel filter can achieve better convergence performance than a transform-domain LMS adaptive digital filter using the discrete Fourier transform
