Abstract
Motivated by the almost cylindrical structures of the limbs and to a lesser extent that of the thorax, a 3-D correction technique is described for obtaining cross-sectional images of finite cylinders of arbitrary cross-section and with translationally uniform impedance distribution. A fast finite element method solution method has been developed for the forward problem. The inverse solution, obtained by the equipotential lines method, is used to derive static images of phantoms
