Abstract
An improved topology of a boost converter is proposed in this paper, in which an extra transformer and a capacitor are added into a conventional booster converter to reduce the input current ripple. Comparing existing topologies with coupled inductors, the new circuit realises ripple free input current without elaborately adjusting the coupling coefficient. Moreover, the special design considerations for AC/DC applications are also proposed
