Abstract :
A Hybrid Reconfigurable antenna is proposed in this paper. The antenna is a combination of beam steering and beam shaping RLSA antenna. The beam steering ability is prominently influenced by the feedline´s spiral and radius while beam shaping´s forte is depending on the 45° of the aperture slots as well as `bridge´ feed line. The spiral feed line and bridge feed line are incorporated with PIN diode switches to enable the multiformities outcome on radiation patterns. The combination of beam steering antenna with beam shaping antenna formed a hybrid four layers configuration. This novel hybrid antenna collectively contribute to the well-developed of 9 multiformities radiation patterns. This hybrid antenna is proficient of steering its radiated beam at four angles; 0°/360°, 90°, 180°, and 270°. Meanwhile, the proposed antenna is able to boost with four different gain of beam shaped radiation patterns; 3.6 dB, 7.2 dBi, 9.9 dBi and 14.64 dBi.
