Abstract :
In light of their increasing commercial applications metal oxide NPs like NiO have elevated chances of entry to the environment. The reactivity, dose-response relationship, biotoxicity and bioabsorption, bioreduction of NiO-NP and Chlorella sp. analyses are required to assess their environmental risks. The present work aims to demonstrate the effect of NiO-NP on Chlorella sp. It shown that NiO-NP can interact with Chlorella sp. The toxicity of NiO-NP to the Chlorella sp. increased with the increase of NiO-NP concentration. The total chlorophyll-a content of showed a decreasing pattern as the NiO-NP concentration and exposure time increased. The absorption percentage rate increased after 48 h exposure, indicating that the absorption process occurred before the bioreduction of NiO-NP, and the ratio of Ni0 reached the highest point at 72 h of exposure. The content of soluble protein in Chlorella sp. under NiO-NP treatments increased as the exposure time and reached the maximum soluble protein content at 72 h, then decreased until the 120 h exposure, the reduction from nNiO to nNi may lead to weakened the toxicity of NiO-NP. This offers a new research method for bioremediation of nano-NP pollution.
