Abstract
A homopolar brushless DC linear motor was developed. Owing to its topology, the machine is able to produce a high sensitivity. The motor is described in this work. A driving strategy was worked out to improve the force of the latter by compensating the armature flux. With the aid of 3D finite element analysis, the flux distribution and static force of the machine were calculated. Experimental and numerical results present an excellent closeness
