  • Abstract
We are studying resin impregnating ability of glass backed mica tape for the high voltage rotating machine stator coils used for turbine generator and hydraulic turbine generators. It is thought that the resin impregnating ability is important by the achievement of the reliability of rotating machines. This paper describes the investigation results of influence with mica tape of air permeability and some binders over impregnation. We demonstrated that the construction of the mica tape and types of the binders are important elements to enhance the resin impregnating ability of the stator coils. The mica tape based on these results is developed. As for this mica tape, the resin impregnating ability is superior to current mica tapes
