Abstract :
This substation evacuates the electric power from the biggest hydropower station on the Danube River (900 MW). Because of the land restrictions in that area this susbstation got a special economical geometric design. Partial disconnection of the busbar sections does not allow painting, since the standard minimum working distances in off-line conditions cannot be respected, due to the special geometry of the structures. Therefore live-line procedures had to be developed for the proposed works.
