Abstract :
Live Maintenance in substation areas is an old target for Romanian companies. In the past, there were some trials but the first “real” work was the live replacement of 400kV busbar insulators in Braşov substation. It was for the first time that the designer thoroughly analyzed both of the working techniques (on deenergised equipment versus Live Working). This paper presents the technical conditions, the economical and technical benefits as well as the applied technology.
