Abstract
As more enterprises and companies utilize cloud environments and services to reduce IT costs, cloud service providers have to minimize their operation cost of data centers in order to gain advantages when competing with each other. In this study, an efficient virtual machine provisioning mechanism for cloud data center is introduced. Based on CloudSim 3.0 simulator, our experimental results have shown that the proposed provisioning mechanism is very efficient in terms of CPU utilization and produces less number of virtual machine migrations in comparison with existing provisioning mechanisms such as LrMmt [1].
