Abstract :
This paper presents a new unit commitment model to solve the optimal operation considering volatility and anti peaking characteristics of wind power. Considering the advantages of flexible regulation and storage, pumped storage power station is introduced in this paper. The model decomposes the question into two sub problems: first, using of pumped storage power station to smooth net load power; then distributing the smoothed system power in thermal power units. To demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed model, the testing is performed in a simplified generation system. The result shows that a proper operating can be reached with the proposed method.
