Abstract :
Such advantages of auxetic structures like scalability, large volume expansion could be used to produce components with deployability and multifunctional characteristics. Kirigami allows cutting patterns that make possible the production of 3D complex structures (mainly cellular) using state-of-the-art manufacturing processes typical of thermosets and thermoplastics composites. New types of mechanical and EM responses can be obtained combining auxetics and kirigami within antennas/reflectors.
