Abstract :
We have explored the feasibility of 44 Gb/s WDM transmission over a transoceanic distance using π2-alternate-phase RZ modulation format. We find that π2-alternate-phase RZ performs more than 3 dB better than regular RZ or carrier-suppressed RZ.
