Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to describe the characteristics of reconstituted mica paper that is manufactured for use in high voltage and high temperature mica paper capacitor applications. The characteristics of mica sheets used in mica capacitors and other types of capacitor dielectric materials (e.g., ceramic, polymer film, etc.) are not described. For the purposes of this paper, high voltage is defined as 1000 VDC to 50000 VDC and high temperature is defined as 260°C. The applications, design and construction, electrical, environmental and physical characteristics, and reliability of this type of capacitor are described
