Abstract
This paper examines design and quality issues relevant to all types and uses of coil bobbins. Topics discussed include: Underwriter (UL) and Community European (CE) specifications and requirements, properties of the most commonly used thermoplastic and thermosetting materials, as well as the materials and styles of electrical terminations used in bobbin design. The basics of bobbin design are covered with special consideration given to common errors that should be avoided
