Abstract :
Since the average speed calculated with encoder pulses inevitably has time delay effects, it can degrade the control performance as well as system stability of induction motors, especially in the low speed region. In this paper, an accurate speed estimation method using a Kalman filter algorithm is presented to improve the speed control performance of an induction motor with a low precision shaft encoder in the low speed operating region
