Abstract :
In order to gain a better understanding of X-ray computed tomography (CT) motion artifacts, a 3-D motion control system is described. Two preliminary experiments were performed in which the system was scanned while simulating physiological motion. The motion artifacts seen in the experimental images are shown to closely parallel artifacts seen in human subjects. These early results provide a basis for an in-depth study of motion artifacts
