Abstract :
In this work a new speed control for a symmetrical squirrel cage induction motor is presented. We consider two cases: (i) under assumption of the knowledge of load torque, we derive an observerless scheme, for which a stability analysis is given; and (ii) when the load torque is unknown, a nonlinear observer is used and the analysis is carried out in order to guarantee the stability properties of the closed loop system, including the observer
