Abstract
This paper proposes a novel lambda/bit conversion technique that improves the efficiency of wavelength utilization; it allows multiple optical wavelengths to transfer both optical power and signal information of wavelength combinations, and simultaneous multi optical wavelength reception by a single pin-PD. The proposal can increase the optical received power with highly efficient wavelength utilization; it can both extend the FTTH introduction area and network service bandwidth easily and economically.
