Abstract
A theoretical study of dielectric coated metallic posts in a rectangular waveguide is presented. A straightforward procedure for calculating the scattered TE/sub m0/ to z field due to conduction current and polarization current is given. The scattering-parameter matrix, as well as the two-port equivalent network, can be found by a conventional approach. As a numerical example, a dielectric coated circular post located at the centre of a rectangular waveguide is analyzed.<>
