Abstract :
A method for the analytic description of transient processes in nonlinear dynamic systems with atypical nonlinearities is proposed. It assumes that the phase-plane trajectory of the dynamic system of interest is known. The only restriction of the method imposed on the phase-plane trajectory is that it should be a step-by-step continuous one. Then, by approximating the phase-plane trajectory step-by-step by adequate approximative functions according a chosen quality criterion, it is possible to analytically (in an approximative sense) determine the time in the phase-plane, and thus to determine the duration of the transient process of interest and the transient process itself
