Abstract :
Building generic models is an obvious trend in object-oriented engineering. The medical field is not an exception. In this paper we present an overview of the development framework of a Cardiology Workstation (CWS) and the underlying object oriented models, issued from the OEDIPE relational core data models. We demonstrate the models extensibility by showing how easy is the addition of other sources of data. The result is a set of classes and their relations assembled in a generic model that is intented to promote integration of information models of different medical specialities.
