Abstract :
The Baltic Ring Study was performed as a European Union TEN project in the period 1996-1998. 18 power companies and electric utility organizations from 11 countries around the Baltic Sea which are members of three nonsynchronously interconnected power system organizations investigated the possibilities of creating a common electricity market in the Baltic sea Region, emphasizing the need for environmental improvements and benefits for the customer.
