  • Abstract
The EIJST interconnection project is aimed at interconnecting the electrical power systems of Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Syria and Turkey (EIJST). The operational studies for the interconnection of Egypt-Jordan and then for: Egypt-Jordan-Syria-Turkey were financed by the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development. The study includes both technical and economic analysis: sharing of the primary reserve; power exchange limits; adaptation of the defence plan; co-ordination of the settings of the protections and relays; co-ordination of the activities of the National Control Centres; determination of economic exchanges between the four systems; and calculation of wheeling charges.
